Mission Statement

The mission of the Montgomery County Library is to provide materials and service for county residents of all ages for personal enrichment, enjoyment and educational needs. The library provides access to a collection of books and other materials to serve these needs, especially a place for young children to discover the joy of reading and the value of libraries.

Welcome to the Montgomery County Library where many services are available. Whether you want to research your ancestry, have a quiet place to do homework, use one of our public access computers, with free Wi-Fi (24/7), read the newspapers or just relax and enjoy a work of fiction you will find it all here.

DVD's, audio books, magazines, newspapers and books for adults, juveniles and children are all available for your use either while you are visiting or to check out.

There is a children's area where much media is available including the Early Literacy Station computer.

Other services available are copy & fax service, large print books, inter-library loans, federal tax forms, and ancestry.com.

Our genealogical collection includes many family histories, newspaper microfilm, other Arkansas reference material, Montgomery County Our Heritage book and ancestry.com.

Also available is the Gateway Project, which is a collection-sharing program for libraries in central Arkansas.

Ouachita Mountains Regional Library

The Montgomery County Library and the Polk County Library formed a new regional library system in 2010. The new regional library is called the Ouachita Mountains Regional Library.

The offices are located in the Montgomery County Library in Mount Ida. Because Montgomery County Library is a member of the OMRL , we have been able to expand our services. OMRL (870) 867-3812.
